Model Headshots  

Although not as important as actor headshots are in an actor's resume, model headshots are part of models' comp cards. Also known as composite, zed or sed cards, these marketing tools are composed of a headshot and a selection of images showcasing his modeling skills.

Finding a photographer who can shoot model headshots is easy nowadays. This is mainly because of the vast improvements in digital technologies which render the art of photography easier than before. However, while anyone with a digital camera can make a decent headshot, models require photo qualities that are many levels higher.

Although not all models have to be beautiful (e.g. character models who work in commercials and print work), employers may decide whether or not to hire you based solely on the photos you show them. That is why hiring a pro is important.

Although usually more expensive, they can give you tips on how to look the way you should. Model headshots taken by an expert can raise your chances of getting hired when you hand them over to the agency.

In the United States, the density of photographers is highest in New York and Los Angeles because this is where the fashion industry thrives. Some of the more notable photographers in the industry are  Patrick Demarchelier, Steven Meisel, Mario Testino , and Annie Leibovitz.
